Peppa Pig Park Günzburg

Capitalising on Peppa Pig’s Florida Park success, everybody was excited to bring Peppa Pig to Germany. Peppa Pig Park Günzburg, although very similar to the Florida park, posed its own unique challenges including the inclusion of a wonderful Duplo play zone for toddlers.

Duplo Play Zone

As creative lead, it was important to ensure that the play zone exemplified the best of both Hasbro and LEGO’s play ethos. It needed to accurately reflect their new product range, capture the spirit of Peppa Pig and her friends, be safe for small children and provide plentiful seating for adults and kids.

The play zone is surrounded by low maintenance planting and a bright blue wooden fence. Peppa Pig hedging lines the entrance. Guests walk or hop on a trail of giant graphic pebbles to be greeted by Duplo versions of Peppa and her friend Suzie, as they play in a small field of flowers against a backdrop of a delightful rainbow. There are opportunities for both children and adults to have their pictures taken in the zone with Duplo versions of Peppa, Suzie and George.

Guests can interact with giant watering cans and flowers, hop in muddy puddles and build their own Duplo adventures under a canopy of shade structure designed both for summer and the Bavarian winter. Starter builds sit on the build tables to inspire kids to play and expand on each of the table zones’ stories. Children can follow and add to Peppa’s adventures as she travels around the interlinking play tables.

A bright Pegasoft play surface with embedded flowers, stars and other shapes makes the area safer for potential falls.

The Tunnel

Towards the end of the project, we were asked to design a minimalist theming concept for a tunnel that would link Legoland’s car park to Peppa Pig’s entrance walkway. This was an exciting opportunity to create an additional storytelling space for kids as they came towards the park. Taking inspiration from the Peppa Pig cartoon episodes, I designed a series of adventure moments that included Peppa’s friends and family, which would be cost-effective and easy to integrate and update.
